Review of Che: Part One (2008) by Sean P — 06 Aug 2009
Part 1 deals with Ernesto 'Che' Guevara's alliance with Fidel Castro as they run a revolution in Cuba against the ruling dictatorship of Batista. The film charts the tail end of the '50's as Castro finally seizes power of Cuba in 1959. The film also shows B and W flashbacks of Che being interviewed and addressing the UN.
Benicio Del Toro is brilliant as Che and while giving the viewer a bit of an insight into Che the man, still retains the enigmatic quality of this iconic character.
The movie is subtitled.
