Review of Che: Part One (2008) by Anthony P — 06 Aug 2009
Del Toro is a worthy Cannes winner for best actor. And a film that's so controversial it would make any free-market right-wing nut go on a rampage for warping our minds with marxist ideas.
The film did deserve to go deeper into Che's philisophical quest, because at his core he was a man fighting for the plight of the oppressed, and I don't call that marxist, I call that the right thing to do. How he tried to achieve it is where the debate begins. But like he said: a true revolutionary must know "love...love of humanity".
