Review of Che: Part One (2008) by Radek C — 26 Aug 2009
Soderbergh is an unpredictable director, but in a bad way. He gets to direct the movie about (probably!) the greatest revolutionist ever and he gives us a slick and down-to-earth show. Plus couple of shootouts and some minor explosions! And what the hell happened to all the fireworks?? This is Che after all! Where's the charisma he was so renowned for and where's all the love & admiration he gained among the people? The energy which makes a film a good one is simply missing and del Toro fails big time! At least, in my opinion.
Looking forward to the second part, though.
