Review of Che: Part One (2008) by Raja N — 06 Dec 2009
Very interesting biopic of revolutionary Ernesto "Che" Guevara. Soderbergh was smart dividing the story in two timelines, because a nearly 5 hour long biography can get a little boring. Steven managed to fight that and brought, at least for the first part since I still haven't watched the second, a mesmerizing tale of nearly everything you need to know about Guevara. The 1964 united nations interviews were even more fascinating than everything that was happening in Cuba in 1956, and showing the exact dates of all events unfolding was really smart.
What really brought this film up was without a doubt Benicio Del Toro, proving once again he's one of the best actors out there.
