Review of Che: Part One (2008) by Zane T — 11 Dec 2009
If you like seeing people standing around in wooded areas talking about what they're going to do instead of doing it, then, this is the movie for you. If you like a movie with so many characters, that even the characters themselves forget who is who, then this is the movie for you. If you like a movie in which people are constantly introducing themselves to each other and greeting each other, then this is the movie for you.
Watching this first part over a week period, I wasn't sure who the hell Che Guevara was, what he was doing in Cuba and what he hoped to accomplished. Okay, he's a Marxist, but so what. This first part drags on so much that the final act in which the revolutionaries take over the Cuban government seems like its another movie. By the time the first part ends with an anti-climatic scene even William Faulkner would have booed at, you must really love Che to watch the second part.
