Review of Che: Part One (2008) by Kevin K — 27 May 2010
The five stars is for the actual full 4 1/2 hour film, not the individual two parts. That being said, it amounts to one epic masterpiece that is surprisingly intimate and entirely objective in it's subject matter.
The first part is a kaleidoscopic view of the Cuban Revolution itself, intercut with Guevara's United Nations address. It's beautifully shot, the writing is intricate and engaging, and the acting by Benicio Del Toro is impeccable.
