Review of Che: Part One (2008) by David B — 05 Jun 2011
I'm giving this two stars because I fail to see why this needs to be broken into two films. People sat through 4 hours of the epic LoTR versions, why does Soderbergh think we wouldn't with this story? It feels dirty to pull a self-indulgent cashcow with this story in particular (having to pay two admissions to one movie).
It's well shot as expected, the acting is average, no cliff-hanger or anything else to make me really anticipate part two... which puts a lot of pressure on Soderbergh to deliver in the second installment.
