The first part of Soderbergh epic focuses on the creation of the Che Guevara myth which was created in the jungles of Cuba and brought him to prominence as a figurehead for any revolutionary movement you caere to mention.

Del Toro was born to play the lead role and his performance is what holds the film together during the less exciting parts of the story.

We follow him from simple doctor treating the peasant army through to him becoming Castros right hand man and figure head to adress the UN.

Soderbergh has obviously seen plenty of David Lean as their is plenty of epic scope and battle scenes which are staged with hardly any reliance on CGI.

The story does in places get bogged down in all the politics that its tring to put across but as I have said Del Toro saves the day with his ability to become the man he is playing.

A bit wordy then but well worth the watch.
