1) PRC propaganda. Final scene is the epitome.

2) Complete and utter focus on action over characterization. How did Donnie Yen become a drug lord? How did the cop gain so much power? No, let's not bother with those important plot developments.

3) Speaking of action, it feels very stilted. May be due to PRC censoring, but it's a homeless man's version of what John Woo was doing 30 years ago.

4) How hard is it to find "laowais" with at least a little acting ability? They cast an "award winning" (according to Wikipedia) dude with actual experience on British TV and it still feels like a caricature.
