Review of Chasing October (2007) by Salva A — 20 May 2010
A great flick about what it means to be a Cubs fan. The fact that Matt Liston decided to make this film in 2003 is (unfortunately) almost too perfect. Most Cubs fans went into the season with moderate expectations, but we were all believing in October when they got SO close. It's not about curses. It's not about losers. It's about passion and believing that good things will happen to those who wait. Super cool flick for die-hard Cub fans.
However, if you are truly passionate about the Cubs, heed the director's warning. Viewer discretion is advised. The 2003 post-season segment brings back lots of memories...
(*Side note: Liston also worked on as production assistant for both Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm, which has nothing to do with this movie, but makes me like him even more.).
