Review of Chasing Mavericks (2012) by Samantha M — 07 Jul 2013

I don't understand why so many people have given this film such bad reviews, clearly they don't appreciate the art of surfing. This film not only shows a boy accomplishing his ambition, it also shows we shouldn't take life for granted as it is too short.

The film is based on a true story of which made me a little teary at times. However the sadness didn't take away my amazements at the skill the actors (or their doubles) had at riding the waves.

I think gerald butler captured the role as jays father figure very well and prepared him well in his task of chasing mavericks.
