Review of Chasing Liberty (2004) by Tyrone P — 15 May 2008
'Chasing Liberty' is a wonderful 2004 romantic comedy. The story revolves around the President's daughter, Anna Foster who just wants to live a normal life. When Anna realises that her father has backed out of a deal that they made, the deal was to reduce the number of Secret Service agents while she attends a concert, she chooses to ditch them and goes on the run with handsome stranger, Ben Calder whom she meets outside of the music club! Anna doesn't tell Ben who she really is and Ben isn't completely honest with Anna either! This film has two excellent leads, the multi-talented Mandy Moore shines as Anna Foster who yearns for a little independence and British actor Matthew Goode is a delight as the mysterious 'photographer'.
I guess I am just an old romantic at heart as I have watched this film countless times. The chemistry between the two leads is magical and who could forget the sweet song 'To Be With You' by Caroline Lost during the end credits.
A perfect song for the perfect couple!
