Review of Chasing Amy (1997) by Joseph E — 11 Dec 2011
This movie is part comedy, part drama, part romance. Sadly director Kevin Smith fails to pull off a good balance between the serious and the funny sides of the movie. It is not quite funny enough to be enjoyable as a comedy and it does not have the content necessary to make it work as a drama.
I would have preferred Jason Lee to make wise cracks like he did in Mallrats, way more Jay and Silent Bob would have been a huge upgrade as well.
