Review of Charlotte's Web (2006) by Deric E — 09 Jul 2009

A lovely children classic retold in one of the worst possible ways. Wilbur the pig has such an annoying voice he needed to die, and Dakota Fanning's portrayal of Fern is icy and irritating, while Julia Roberts gives a detached and uninterested voice to Charlotte.

Tends to drag a bit as well. Credit goes to the excellent animation work, and the great edit of the story. Overall a little dull, perhaps another misstep in the book-to-movie conversion.
