Review of Charlotte's Web (2006) by Noel N — 15 Jun 2010
(from The Watermark, 01/25/07).
Another unexpected delight with cross-over appeal for both adults and children. The E. B. White classic is lovingly interpreted in live action with computer-enhanced animals (highly reminiscent of the Babe flicks). While having a CGI spider for the title character is at first a little creepy, she eventually wins us over (having the voice of Julia Roberts certainly helps). The beautifully choreographed scene of Charlotte spinning her web is executed with breathtaking grace. This is one film adaptation that they got right.
