Review of Charlotte's Web (1973) by Nikita H — 14 Oct 2008
I thought this film was quite well done.
For the amount of obvious CGI in it, it wasn't ruled by that fact like some films can be.
It reminded me of babe in some ways but the characters were plotted and portrayed much better, as the way the novel portrayed them.
I also thought that whoever had designed the spider really knew how to make something that could really scare your kids into somethign very natural and not at all threatening.
I know a lot of kids who are scared of spiders and the spider that was made up for Charlotte was really well animated.
I loved the story portrayed in film as much as I did imagining it when I read the novel as a child.
It was well acted, the voice actors were really well chosen and the film was not a let down as some novel adaptations can be.
Especially when it comes to kids novels.
The story was followed very well, adn the film shows that.
It still has the same heart the book did.
Very Well done.
