It drove me CRAZY that they were all speaking English rather then French. I found the love story syrupy and overdone. The script needed major editing- there was the seed of a good script in there, but it was overshadowed by its problems.
But Cate's performance was excellent, as always, and the cinematography and settings were poignant and gorgeous.
