Review of Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle (2003) by David G — 16 Jul 2011
Essentially more of the same, only dumber. A LOT dumber. Now don't get me wrong, it's not like the original wasn't dumb - it was - but it struck just the right balance between silliness and charm.
Here however the scales have tipped so much in favour of the former that the charm has all but evaporated, which only magnifies the horrible special effects and wire work, terrible and/or wasted characters and meaningless so-called "plot" - so vapid and trivial that I can barely even remember it less than 24 hours later.
The icing on the cake: no Bill Murray. Bernie Mac tries his best as the replacement Bosley and to be fair to him he is very funny, but no one can ever truly replace old Bill.
