Review of Charlie Wilson's War (2007) by John A — 13 Jul 2009
Enjoyable enough, taking a comic tone toward a serious issue, much like it appears the real Charlie Wilson did in the 1980s. Hoffman's character is the real standout here though, his vicious and vulgar attacks on everyone and everything are bitingly funny.
The story moves along at a nice clip, nothing much else really stands out, everything's fairly well amusing. If you aren't looking to get accuracy or a history lesson from this, it should make for a fun evening.
