Review of Charlie Wilson's War (2007) by Samuel Ö — 01 Nov 2009
A good sense of balance between patriotism and criticism against US foreign involvement. I'd have liked it to take one step further, exploring the paradoxes of the alliance between devout texans and the pakistani army, but as it is it's a shrewd piece of subtle remarks on the origins of US's afghan problem.
And maybe subtlety is the way to go nowadays, post-Michael Moore...
