Review of Charlie Wilson's War (2007) by Paul M — 31 Jul 2010
This movie makes you ask yourself a lot of questions, especially about how the government handles world issues. We covertly offer a country our help, but then do next to nothing to help rebuild what was destroyed.
As far as the movie itself goes, I'm glad I finally got to see it. I didn't like Tom Hanks as Charlie Wilson. He played the part well, but he didn't seem to fit the right way for me. Philip Seymour Hoffman was my favorite part of the whole film, and the scene where Hanks nonchalantly sends him in and out of the room multiple times while trying to fix his Vegas/cocaine incident is classic.
