Review of Charlie Wilson's War (2007) by Edith N — 28 Aug 2010
Tried to watch this, I really tried...but Julia Roberts didn't convince me in her role (a shame because I do, truly, love her other movies), I'm a woman so I wasn't really enjoying the T&A parade, and so much of all this just detracted from the story, which I could have been interested in.
..had they just given it...something. Yet, it seemed like I watched a parade of women flaunting themselves in front of Tom Hanks, Julia Roberts doing a bad southern accent looking hideous in frightening makeup (how do they make a beautiful woman look so terrible?) and scene to boring scene of lots of talk, no action, and thinking I would have rather watched the premise of the film in a documentary or read it in an encylopedia blurb.
