Review of Charlie St. Cloud (2010) by Pauline L — 06 Mar 2011
Last summer when I saw the trailer, I bawled my eyes out. Last night when I watched the movie, a few tears slid down my face. So I guess what I'm saying is I'm kind of indifferent to this movie... only maybe leaning a little toward the 'like' side.
Zac Efron's acting was what really sold it for me. He played the character of Charlie St. Cloud with so much heart. I've never seen any of the High School Musical movies so I can't really say how he's "blossomed as an actor", but I imagine he has. The rest of the cast was really solid as well, and the cinematography was brilliant. British Columbia's scenery was captured beautifully.
As for the script, well it was okay I guess. There were definitely some scenes that could have been drawn out a little longer to really reach the audience. Others needed to be clarified because the whole supernatural thing was a tad confusing.
I'm too lazy to write anything more so I'll end it here.
