I think this film is rather underrated. I found it rather enjoyable as it's beautifully shot, and it even made me cry at the beginning when Sam died in the car accident. Not many films reduce me to tears, so it deserves an extra star for that alone.
It is rather sentimental, I suppose and the script lacks an edge, but I was left with a warm feeling inside, and that's no bad thing.
