Review of Charlie Bartlett (2008) by S Sean N — 13 Jan 2009
This film got undeservedly poor reviews as a "Ferris Bueller" knock-off, but it offers far more than that, with wickedly sharp commentary about modern psychiatry, rich kids raised by nannies and Prozac-popping moms, alcoholic school teachers, and personal responsibility.
Also, great supporting performances by a pre-"Nick and Nora" Kat Dennings, Hope Davis, and the always reliable Robert Downey Jr.
