Review of Charlie Bartlett (2008) by Nikki J — 21 Jan 2009
This movie had a lot of very clever moments, and more than a little social commentary on both high school and our over-medicated society, not to mention a solid performance by the ever-versatile Robert Downey, Jr, but on the whole it struck me as somewhat detached.
Almost as if it were high on its own meds. It was also quite far-fetched...maybe psychiatrists, parents and administrators really are that clueless sometimes, but I feel a certain oversuspension of disbelief is necessary to really enjoy this movie.
