Review of Charlie Bartlett (2008) by Derek C — 23 Jan 2009
Another silly, naive movie that tries to tackle big issues to no avail. So many moments feel forced - including the sudden acceptance of Charlie by his peers at his new high school when he provides them prescription drugs.
Downey Jr. made a little out of nothing, while for me, Kat Dennings provided any sense of authenticity. I can see where this was trying to be charming and interesting, much of it just doesn't work.
