Review of Charlie Bartlett (2008) by Jonathan W — 24 Jan 2009
A disjointed movie that didn't know what it wanted to be. Charlie's acceptance by his peers was more than unconvincing, and several scenes felt more than a little forced (i.e. the scene where Charlie punches the principal).
Downey is great though, despite having an underdeveloped character (does anyone seriously believe he would have been made a principal after having once threatened suicide?) but his performance is the only real reason to watch the movie.
