Review of Charlie Bartlett (2008) by Stephanie P — 26 Jan 2009
Enjoyable film with good story and wonderful performances by all. Anton Yelchin does an amazing job playing a teen from a wealthy background but with dysfunctional parents. His mother is played by Hope Davis who also gives a very tender performance of the fragile mom.
He lands in public school and finds his own unique ways of fitting in and falls for the principle's daughter played by red lipstick wearing Kat Denning and the Principal by Robert Downy Jr - also great in their roles.
I have to say though for a large supporting cast in this film beyond what I have mentioned - you are going to find great performances by each of them. Though some elements of this is sad at time, over-all it's fun movie.
