Review of Charlie Bartlett (2008) by Heather C — 02 Feb 2009
Aaron and I watched this on DVD a few months ago. According to IMDb, the movie is about: "A rich kid becomes the self-appointed psychiatrist to the student body of his new high school.".
The movie automatically gets 1 star since Robert Downey Jr. is in it...but it's actually not a bad movie to watch. I couldn't relate at all to the main character, but that didn't mean it wasn't fun to watch what he went through. The storyline and characters were sufficient. Not great, but decent enough to warrant a viewing.
I don't recall laughing my butt off at anything in particular, but I do recall being amused a few times. In my book, that's all I require of a DVD. I think they tried to make this movie on par with Juno, but it isn't. I also think it would appeal more to older teenagers than adults/parents, which might be why I only found it adequate. *shrug*.
