Review of Charlie Bartlett (2008) by Nick K — 02 Apr 2009
This is really an intellectual version of Napoleon Dynamite. An honest take on how teenagers view high school and life. Robert Downey Jr. is good, and has a little true to life role in this movie. Anton Yelchin as the title character is brilliant and reminds me of a young Micheal J.
Fox. One of things I like about this movie is its range. It goes from laugh out loud funny, to some pretty dramatic moments. Also, this version of high school is a little closer to truth then how its depicted in other movies I've seen.
I enjoyed watching it with my significant other, and I plan on recommending it to my friends.
