Review of Charlie Bartlett (2008) by Emilio P — 24 Jan 2010
Charismatic Charlie has been kicked out of various educational institutions, when all he really wants is to be the most popular kid in school; he finally gets his wish by becoming an all-purpose shrink to his fellow students.
He also falls in love with the daughter of the school principal, who's got plenty of problems of his own. Offbeat comedy with serious undertones wanders all over the map but benefits from Downey's offbeat characterization and Yelchin's appealing performance.
