Review of Charlie Bartlett (2008) by Jim C — 04 Oct 2010
I was pretty impressed with this movie. It wasn't 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off', but it was good. Anton Yelchin has a lot of charisma and talent, plus he's smart...and cute. Tyler Hilton was no Paris Hilton, and that's probably the best thing about the movie in two ways; he came across as the thug he portrayed but cleaned up nicely in the end.
The weak link in the movie was Robert Downey, Jr. who seemed to be playing down to the rest of the cast. Maybe some of the themes hit too close to home. Mark Rendall was the perfectly depressed loner.
They should make a sequel where he stars as Kip Kinkel, maybe.
