Review of Charlie Bartlett (2008) by Ryan S — 08 Nov 2010
Ferris bueller as if it were made by the makers of Juno. Thats a bad thing. One of those films that clearly is afraid of bein mainstream so throws in some quirky music or weird moments to try and be unique and quirky.
Instead what happens is youre enjoying it fine but then you wonder why all of a sudden its gone a bit odd for a few minutes. Yelchin is a good up and coming actor tho and downey jr is always at least good.
When you throw a load of ingredients into a pot tho you just get a load of bits and no real sense of identity. Is it a drama? A comedy? A romance? Its at once all those things and none of those things.
