Review of Charlie Bartlett (2008) by Mad C — 29 Feb 2012
Even though it had typical "high school story" themes, such as 'bully and victim unite' and 'football player ends up confessing his father pressured him into playing football and that's not really what he wants to do', it made me smile and I liked the originality since, from reading the summary, it seemed like Charlie was the cliche bad-ass "New Kid" and the principal was evil and hated all teenage specimens.
Charlie, although unrealistically extremely wise and ends up making "good decisions" to benefit everyone else and himself in the end, was likeable enough. I did enjoy Robert Downey Jr., though.
