Pretty good teen "coming of age" film with a bit of "Ferris Buehler" and "Harold and Maude" thrown in. Engaging performance by Yelchin who finds a way to avoid a cloying characterization.
And Robt. Downey Jr adds depth to what could have been a one-dimensional character. I tend to enjoy teen comedies and coming of age films - regardless of how formulaic they can be. If you like these genres you may like this movie.
