Review of Charley Varrick (1973) by David H — 11 Sep 2009
A fine, underrated crime thriller from the Seventies, full of dark humor and memorable characters. Plus, the plot is socko: a bank robber accidentally steals the mafia's money. Oops. Mayhem ensues, but the gum-chewing anti-hero has several tricks up his sleeve.
Full of plot twists and eccentric characters, this may have been a big influence of Tarantino and David Lynch.
