A best picture that is subtle yet very well done. An interesting kind of duo biopic about a Jew and a Christian who compete in the Olympics. Challenging views on belief over country and showing that things should be done to honor God first are interesting topics to be found in a best picture (especially from the eighties though Gandhi also came from that decade).

My favorite part is when the American runner hands Eric Liddle the note that says God honors those that honor Him in reference to Liddle not running on Sunday to honor God. A film that speaks to the heart, the mind, and the soul.
