Probably my favourite sports movie of all time, odd given that I don't watch them. The story of a team of athletes who compete in field and track during the 1924 Paris Olympics deservedly won Best Picture, with Ben Cross and Ian Charleson pulling great performances as Harold Abrahams and Eric Liddell.
Also notable for a number of British character actors, e.g. Peter Cellier, Nigel Davenport, Patrick Magee (the author in A Clockwork Orange), and Richard Griffiths (Uncle Vernon in Harry Potter).
