Review of Charade (1963) by Nicolas A — 23 Oct 2009
I've still been thinking about this film for months after I've watched it. Something is unsettling about the over all tone shifts. It's as if it's floating around between a comedy/thriller, a mystery/romance and a straight up suspense film. It's well written and very engaging in it's separate sequences, but as a whole it feels like it may only be spoofing Alfred Hitchcock rather than being it's own unique story.
As far as Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn go, they're as fun and great as ever.
