Review of Charade (1963) by Brian S — 07 Dec 2008
While I thought the love story was a bit too contrived, the blackly comedic suspense thriller was awesome. Donen's direction brings a subtler variation of his Gene Kelly-era wit and charm to a near-Hitchcockian mystery of murder and intrigue.
Audrey Hepburn is outstanding as always, and Cary Grant, even to the final years of his career, never loses a beat. great supporting cast as well. a superbly-made film for its own time as well as ours.
