Review of Charade (1963) by Greg N — 21 Jan 2010
Yet another reason why I learned never to listen to Jim aka my dad. As a kid this movie would come on, of all places, PBS, a land devoid of all entertainment, and Jim would always say that movie is bad and there was always very little distinction in my family between bad as in quality or as in evil.
The proclomation was made and of course I'd just go back to my room and turn off the Nintendo 64, you think they'd be happy about that, and watch it there and even at age of 11, when for God only knows why I still thought Star Trek and Star Wars were cool, I liked it.
Now that I'm older I can actually understand all of it and it's funnier now. Cary Grant trying to stave off the advances of Audrey Hepburn, which was probably the cause of the ridiculous gay rumors cause what man in his right mind would do so.
Hook handed nut cases. James Coburn. Walter Matthau. If you can watch this and not enjoy it then I worry you don't have a single romantic bone in your body and that's sad.
