Review of Charade (1963) by Stefanos T — 09 Jul 2011
I can't remember when I last had so much fun watching a movie. Charade is obviously an homage to Hitchcock, the first give away being the two biggest stars who contribute to the international appeal.
There is suspense, comedy, thriller, mystery, all the ingredients for an easy success. Cary Grant is the polished romantic lover who doesn't take himself seriously and Audrey Hepburn is probably the most beautiful I have ever seen in any of her pictures.
Her clothes, matched with her undisputed elegance against the backdrop of Paris is simply wonderful. The plot which I thought was going to end up a disappointment was surprisingly quite clever.
