Review of Charade (1963) by Jennifer H — 11 May 2013
So I had rented The Truth About Charlie awhile back from the library, and this film it copied was on the flip side. I waited a week before watching it to give it some distance. Sadly, I kind of already knew the twists with the money and the 'bad guy,' but I will say Grant and Hepburn made this film so enjoyable. They had great chemistry, and just little touches made it great. Like Grant's shower bit for example. This was my first He[burn film oddly and she was just mesmerizing.
I also loved seeing very young James Coburn, George Kennedy and Walter Matthau...who is so unrecognizable here.
The score is fun and I loved all the chase scenes.
The only knock on this film was when they were on the boat...the background was so very fake.
