Review of Chapter 27 (2007) by Haley B — 25 Oct 2008
This movie was really weird. I don't know if I can say I liked it, but it definitely wasn't as awful as some of the reviews I read said it was. Its just a very odd picture, I don't know what it is, but it has a totally different feel to in than normal movies.
The performances were great, Jared Leto was a bit too believable, to the point where it seriously disturbed me. The story wasn't too heavy, it was definitely more of a character study of Mark David Chapman.
It was a bit slow and hard to get through, but I thought the ending was very creepy and well done. It isn't an entertaining film, and not one I would ever want to watch repeatedly, but it is kind of interesting, and I think Leto's performance makes it worth it.
