Review of Chapter 27 (2007) by Rhonda C — 10 Nov 2008
I was against seeing this movie just because of what Jared Leto had to do to his body in order to fit the role. After forcing myself to watch it I'm even more regretful that the once very attractive Leto put on 60 pounds and suffered from health issues in order to play a role in such a mediocre film.
Jared did a pretty good job I thought, the insanity played off well, but most everything else - the plot, the other characters, ect - was lacking alot of crucial characteristics. I dislike Lindsay Lohan as a person so much that I don't think I could ever take her seriously in a role, and her placement in this movie was a poor choice.
There was too much crazy talk from Chapman and not enough plot advancement and action. The actual assassination of John Lennon and after effects of the event weren't played up nearly as much as they should have been.
The rising actions took up pretty much all of the movie with the dull 'climax' lasting only about the last five minutes.
