Don't know why this movie is getting so much hate. I personally enjoyed it. Sure, I'll admit the first few scenes were a little annoying and felt awkward, but stick with it and it becomes an excellent story.
I went with my family and if you can just let yourself connect with the plot and the robot Chappie, it's hard not to love it. We actually ended up crying like babies at some parts because we allowed ourselves to connect on a personal level with Chappie.
He was just so childlike that anyone who has a child in their lives that they love dearly would cringe at some of the treatment Chappie endures. At least check it out on the redbox. If you don't like it, heck, you only lost a dollar.
