Review of Chappie (2015) by Street J — 20 Apr 2016
I liked Elysium. I really enjoy watching Blomkamp's films because he has an attention to technical detail that reminds me of James Cameron's - always entertaining.
Unfortunately, to keep setting the films in South Africa or using Afrikaan hurts watchability for the target audience.
Chappie is like a cross between Ultron and Robocop and the effects are reminiscent of District 9. If I had to give it a hard grade, I'd go for a B-.
