Yes, this movie has a huge plot holes. Yes, it's AI and consciousness approach is rather unscientific. But this movie is as much ALIVE as Chappie himself - sometimes naive, sometimes stupid, I don't know how to describe it.
. it has a genuine SOUL. And, as we can see in majority of reviews, this soul resonates with people's cultural and genetic notions of parental love, redemption and hope. That's why we give such a high scores despite primitive and aggressive methods of delivering those emotions.
