Review of Chappie (2015) by Gabriel Arthur P — 19 Jun 2015
As the robot-turned-human shtick goes, this isn't a bad shot. It borrows heavily from Robocop but you'd expect it to since it's a story about police robots. It's quite comical at times.
The action is so-so. About the most exciting thing is seeing Die Antwoord putting in surprisingly good performances. The props, sets, and effects were wonderful. The story is actually a little bit touching but the ending is just over the top transhumanism and a little disappointing, actually.
